At Dover Middle School, DiAE brought in two teaching artists whose work created completely different, yet equally inspiring, learning environments. In the music and percussion residency, Jason guided students through rhythm, movement, and emotional expression. His sessions showed how music can help students communicate in ways beyond words—using beats, patterns, and collaboration to build confidence and connection. Across the hall, Cony led a Spanish-language residency rooted in visual art and Delaware state history. Her class blended language learning with creativity, inviting students to use illustration and storytelling to deepen their understanding of cultural identity and place. These photographs highlight the heart of DiAE’s mission—artists empowering students to learn through the arts, and classrooms transformed by imagination, curiosity, and joy.
